Damn I could not disagree more. I ride almost all on the street 5'5" and 28 inseam. My bike is the regular GS with a lowered Sargent seat. I have no issues with the height and the ride is amazing. The trellis suspension gives very little dive under hard braking and honestly the soft setting for me is more comfortable than my previous Ducati
The factory low suspension option just uses a shorter shock and the front suspension is unchanged although one can always slide the fork tubes up the triple clamp a bit. If the bike is standard height/low seat then going to the shorter shock would be the easiest route. Going to the shorter shock does require the shorter side stand however.

15 posts · Joined 2014. #17 · Aug 11, 2014. You get the low seat option free on F800GSA-T these days. On a standard GS model one has to pay a bit extra to get it to 820mm from 850mm (standard also free of charge). You will have to compromise on no ESA and no central stand when lowering to 820mm.

Funny thing is the 50mm lowering kit still keeps the front 10mm taller then the F650GS twin not including the extra height of the F800GS front wheel, my advice to most is get the 1" Hyperpro kit and get the Touratech low comfort seat, that combo gives you 2" of extra stand over and retains most of the off road capabilities and the Touratech
