First remove the fluid level sensor on the right side and drain the fluid into a bucket or something, before removing the pump. Often the pump and the lines near it get clogged with gunk. It seems the seal fails and oil gets into sensor. The N55 powered 335i F30 has the ZF 8HP45 and the B58 powered 340 has the 8HP50. I think the 8HP50 can handle more power/torque but I'm not positive.
